Introducing Mrs Darcy

¡Mi primer proyecto serio con dos agujas! Tiene muchísimos fallos, claro: puntos retorcidos, nudos mal escondidos, costuras horriblemente cosidas y además ha quedado demasiado estrecha para llevar algo grueso debajo. Pero como a mí me gusta la veo de color de rosa. Es calentita, cómoda, bonita, está terminada y 100% hecha sólo por mí. :-)

Ready to meet Mr Darcy

Lana: 2 ovillos y algo más de Katia Fama en beige. 100% acrílico.
Agujas: 3,5 mm.
Patrón: Mary Weaver.
Modificaciones: Muchas (ver diagrama y notas en Ravelry). Añadí una pasada de punto de cangrejo a ganchillo alrededor del cuello para evitar que se enrolle.
Hay una errata en el patrón original. El punto elástico retorcido se teje:
Pas 1- (derecho) dcho 1 por detrás del punto, rev 1 * repetir
Pas 2- (revés) dcho 1, rev 1 por detrás del punto * repetir

El próximo proyecto lo tejeré con agujas circulares. Se terminó la pesadilla de unir las piezas y dejar costuras horrendas por todas partes.

My first serious knitting project ever! It has lots of mistakes, of course: twisted stitches, knots badly hidden, seams awfully sewn and it turned out too tight to wear anything thick underneath. But I like to look at it through rose-tinted glasses. It's warm, comfy, pretty, finished and 100% made only by me. :-)

Yarn: Beige 100% acrylic Katia Fama. A little more than 2 skeins.
Needles: 3.5 mm / US4.
Pattern: Mary Weaver.
Mods: A lot! See diagram & notes on Ravelry. Crocheted 1 row of crab st around the collar to prevent it from curling up.

Fixed pattern error: Twisted Rib:
Row 1- (right side) k1tbl, p1 to end of row
Row 2- (wrong side) k1, p1tbl to end of row.

I will be knitting with circular needles from now on. No more sewing parts together and leaving all kind of horrid seams behind.

Divine Hat

A very warm and soft woollen octopus!

Pues sí, aunque tengo tantos proyectos aún por terminar y no hago más que prometer que no empezaré ninguno hasta que acabe otro, al final he sucumbido. Pero es que lo necesitaba, de verdad. Está haciendo mucho frío. No ha llegado a nevar, pero casi. Y además tenía esta lana tan mona que me pedía que la tejiera. He tenido suerte: he encontrado el proyecto perfecto para hacer un gorro con un solo ovillo.

Yes, even if I have so many unfinished projects and I promise I am not starting a new one until I finish another, I gave in. But I needed this, really. It's been very cold. Not snowing yet though. And I had this yummy yarn in my stash begging me to use her -yes, they're 'her' in Spanish ;-) I was lucky: I found the perfect one-skein hat!

Hoy es el cumpleaños de una persona muy especial, así que le he hecho este marcapáginas que sirve de detallito a falta de un regalo más contundente. ¡Que cumplas muchos más! :-)

De izquierda a derecha: Texturas minúsculas, Encaje de concha y Cuadrado sólido. Para variar, se me olvidó fijarlos y han llegado hechos un trapo, no tengo perdón.

Cardigan in progress

No soy lo que se dice una experta haciendo jersey pero como podéis ver, Mrs Darcy avanza lenta pero segura. Sólo me falta hacer la otra manga y coser todas las piezas - por el momento, eso de tejer con circulares es demasiado moderno para mí.

I am not what you call an expert knitter but as you can see, Mrs Darcy is coming along slowly but surely. Just need to make the other sleeve and sew all pieces together - knitting in the round is too fashionable to poor old me at the moment.

Sunrise Sunset - 1st squares

Cuando las noches se alargan y oscurece más temprano, apetece quedarse en casa y ocupar el tiempo en crear algo calentito. Hace un año que mi madre le echó el ojo a esta manta y quince días atrás decidió comenzarla. Tras varios intentos infructuosos, una traducción y numerosas explicaciones por mi parte, he aquí los primeros cuadritos:

When nights grow longer and it gets darker early, it is time to remain at home and employ those hours in making something warm. Last year my mother fell in love with this afghan and decided to start it a fortnight ago. After several unsuccessful attempts, a translation and many explanations, these are her first squares:

Por supuesto, con un ganchillo menor que el que pide el patrón. Estos miden 10x10 cm por lo que toca hacer la friolera de 150 cuadraditos... y no quiere que le ayude.

Of course, she is not crocheting them with the hook the pattern asks for but a smaller one. These squares are 10x10 cm (4"x4") and we need 150 -- and she refuses my assistance!
