This is what I got yesterday from the US, packed in a big envelope:

F.L.W., candies & yarn
Lots of good stuff

The skeins, cotton, wool'n silk blend (luxurious!) and fur. Finally I have one of those famous Sugar'n Cream on my hands, and it's 100% cotton. I was starting to think that it was a fantasy.

Sour candies, strawberry flavoured and strawberry&grape flavoured, from Willy Wonka. It does exist actually! They're so tasty! And addictive!!

Brochures from Frank Lloyd Wright's Meyer May House, one of my favourite architects. He designed really fantastic houses and fortunately some of them are restored museums like this one.

And not only everything is wonderful -it is!- but I'm amazed at those skeins. They have printed a pattern on the back of the label. Are all American yarns like these? Our national ones should take note of that...

Yarn, candies, architectural brochures... What else should a girl ask for? On cloud nine, many many thanks, Libby!!

  2. I'm glad you like it. :-D Alessandra took the words out of my mouth (or rather, hands): most skeins here have patterns on the back. Sometimes they print only knitted or only crocheted ones, and sometimes (if you're lucky) they print both versions. That's why I often keep the wrappers and stash them in a folder!

  4. I think it is just great that skeins have patterns printed on the back. I wish Spanish yarns had them too! But of course, you can't print a whole doily pattern on a label ;-)

  5. Oh, what a wonderful package you received! Hmm, maybe some others of us could send you some of the patterns we've collected over the years from yarn skeins..that is if you would like to have some of them. I have to say most are dishcloths if that's okay.
