Hilo: 1 ovillo de Mondial Cotton Soft Speciale Baby Print color "frutas del bosque". 100% algodón.
Agujas: 3 mm.
Patrón: Avita de Lomester.
Modificaciones: Monté menos puntos e hice menos pasadas para adaptar el vestido para un bebé de 0-3 meses. Empecé el punto diamante desde la sisa hasta el cuello, en total 7 repeticiones.

Yarn: 1 skein of 100% cotton variegated pink & purple Mondial Cotton Soft Speciale Baby Print.
Needles: 3 mm / US 2½.
Pattern: Avita by Lomester.
Adjustements: Casted on fewer sts than suggested and knitted fewer rows to make it fit a 0-3 months old. Made 7 pattern repeats from armhole to top.

Euphorbia lactea

El verano ya está aquí y el tiempo está siendo insoportable. ¡Y no ha hecho más que empezar! Un horror. Al menos, esta amiguita estará feliz (sí, pienso en ella en femenino y la personalizo). La compramos la semana pasada. Es la primera vez que veo este tipo de planta, a ver si soy capaz de mantenerla con vida y en condiciones. :-)

Summer is here and weather has being unbearable. And it has just started. Awful! At least, this mate will be happy. We bought her (yes, I think of it as a 'she') last week and it's my first time seeing this kind of plant. Let's see whether I am able to take care of her properly. :-)

Textured in progress

Tras la crisis de la mano izquierda llegó la de las agujas circulares. Estaba tejiendo mi Anne Elliot tan ricamente cuando el cable de silicona no pudo con el peso y se partió en dos, de modo que el fin de semana pasado, aprovechando que hacía una visita a la capital, pasé por mi nuevo espacio favorito y me compré un juego de las famosas agujas intercambiables Knit Pro. No tenían del número que necesitaba para la rebeca pero sí del que me hacía falta para un chal que tenía en mente. ¡Ooh! Qué diferencia con las agujas cutrecillas. Antes no quería ni oír hablar de las circulares, ahora estoy deseando cogerlas de nuevo. Son maravillosas… y de color rosa y translúcidas y dejan pasar la luz teñida de rosa. Estoy encantada ¿se nota? Definitivamente me he pasado al Lado Oscuro de la Fuerza las Artes.

After my left hand crisis came the circular needles crisis. I was knitting my Anne Elliot so happily when the cable made of silicon couldn’t hold all the weight and broke in two. Last weekend I make a quick trip to the Capital City and visited my new favourite place to buy a pair of interchangeable Knit Pro needles. The number I needed wasn’t available so I bought another pair to knit a shawl I had in mind. Ooh! So different from the cheap shabby needles I had. Before Knit Pro I didn’t want to use circular needles but now I am willing to hold them again. They’re wonderful and pink and translucent and they let pass pink-dyed light. I’m so pleased, did you notice? I have definitely joined the Dark Side of the Force Crafts.

Textured & Variegated

¿Y qué hay del chal? Se trata del sencillísimo Textured Shawl Recipe de Orlane. Mademoiselle Alex ha hecho un par que me encandilaron, lanzó el reto al aire y me apunté enseguida. Con dos de los ovillos que Libby me regaló el año pasado por mi cumpleaños calculo que me saldrá un chal muy calentito con colores otoñales. Patrón apto para novatos.

What about the shawl? It’s the easy Textured Shawl Recipe by Orlane. Mademoiselle Alex, who has made a couple of beautiful shawls, set us a challenge and I accepted. I think two of the skeins Libby gave me for my birthday last year will make a warm autumn-ish shawl. Pattern suitable for novices.

Siento no haber estado por aquí últimamente pero mi muñeca y codo izquierdos me duelen mucho. Tengo malas costumbres a la hora de dormir y parece que los he retorcido (sí, ya sé que es raro). Por suerte soy diestra y puedo trabajar con normalidad, pero me duele bastante al tejer y teclear así que esta vez seré breve. Muchas gracias, Alessandra, por darme el Kreative Blog Award, aunque aún me queda un largo camino a recorrer para alcanzarte. :-)

Las reglas son las siguientes: haz una lista de 7 cosas que probablemente no sepa de ti y después pásaselo a otros 7 blogs kreativos. Esta es mi lista:

1. Soy muy estricta con la gramática y las faltas de ortografía y me hiere en lo más hondo saber que mi inglés es mediocre y a saber qué tonterías escribo cada vez que publico. Por favor, si sabes más que yo, no dudes en corregirme.
2. Soy muy especial para comer. Creo que eso explica por qué estoy tan delgada.
3. Resulta que tengo doble articulación en los pulgares. Siempre había pensado que las tonterías que puedo hacer con ellos eran normales y todo el mundo podía hacerlas también.
4. Cuando era pequeña quería ser pelirroja. A día de hoy aún pienso que es el pelo más bonito que existe.
5. Me encantan los animales pero no tengo mascotas. Mi piso es demasiado pequeño para ellos.
6. No veo la tele excepto para los eventos deportivos, que me encantan. Por cierto, en mi vocabulario la palabra 'deporte' no incluye 'motor' en la definición. :-P
7. Soy alérgica al polen y ODIO la primavera. Todas mis plantas son cactus que no florecen y pothos.

I'm sorry I haven't been on lately but my left wrist and elbow hurt a lot. I have very bad sleeping habits and somehow I have twisted them. Odd, isn't it? Fortunately I'm right-handed and I can work normally, but crafting and typing turned out to be very painful so this time I will be short. I'd like to thank Alessandra for giving me this Kreative Blog Award although I have a long way ahead to reach her! :-)

1. I'm a grammar nazi and it really hurts my pride to know that my English is far from perfect and I may be writing silly wrong things everytime I post. Please feel free to correct me any time!
2. I'm a very picky eater. That explains why I am so thin.
3. Recently I found I have double-jointed thumbs and I always thought they were normal and everybody could do with them the same funny things I do.
4. When I was younger I wanted to be red-haired. I still think it's the prettiest.
5. I love animals but don't have any pet. My small flat is no place for them.
6. I don't watch TV but for sports events, which I really love. By the way, in my vocabulary the definition of 'sport' doesn't include 'motor'. :-P 
7. I'm allergic to pollen and I HATE spring. All my houseplants are cacti without flowers and pothos.

Doilies are cool! I love doilies! And I hope my friend does too because I made it for her! No, not one of my so-called modern friends who despise anything hand-made. I gave up on them long ago. :-)

Stash

Siona publicó hace unos días una foto de su alijo lanero, declarándose compradora compulsiva y animándonos a publicar fotos a sus lectores para no sentirse tan sola. Mi comentario, muy segura de mí misma, fue: "Me superas de calle". Así soy de sobrada. Hasta que me he puesto a sacar tesoros de las bolsas del rincón del fondo, de la caja que guardo debajo de la cama y de la cajonera de la mesa.

Siona posted a picture about her yarn stash a few days ago, admitting to be a compulsive yarn buyer. She encouraged her readers to upload a picture of their stashes so she doesn't feel alone out there. Overconfident, I commented her amount was larger by far than mine - until I began finding hidden treasures here and there: those bags at the corner, the box under the bed, the drawers...

Last week, my dear friend Libby sent me this wonderful "Sunshine Blogger Award." She says we were separated at birth, can you believe that? I do - somehow it happened. ;-)

Sunshine International Blankets Of Love

Sue a.k.a. Mrs Twins, founder of SIBOL, recently wrote at Crochet Spot:

SIBOL is an online knitting and crocheting group with members all across the world. We make ‘Sunshine Blankets’ out of knitted and crocheted squares for the elderly in the UK.

The elderly are sometimes forgotten about often sitting lonely in nursing homes and hospitals as families tend to have very busy lives with limited time to visit. We are hoping that a gift of a handmade blanket will be like ‘a ray of sunshine’ when an elderly person receives one. Sending love and warmth knowing that someone cares about them and that the blanket will bring a smile to their face!

‘Sunshine Blankets’ are to be donated to nursing homes, hospitals and charities in the UK.

If you would like to learn more, or get involved in making squares please visit the SIBOL blog .

I encourage everybody to visit their blog. They have already made seven happy blankets and the number is increasing soon with squares sent from all over the world. You don't need to be an experienced knitter or crocheter, just do your best. Would you like to help them? They are asking for:

Fetching

¿A dónde va Vicente? A donde va la gente...
Si todo el mundo en ravelry (o casi) lo ha hecho, será por algo, y yo no iba a ser menos. Allá por enero recibí un regalito de mis Reyes transoceánicos particulares (¡gracias Tea!) que consistía en dos ovillos de Knit Picks Andean Silk, un buen puñado de patrones, agujas laneras, marcardores y sujeta-agujas con forma de trébol, todo ello acompañado por dos postales preciosas de las Grandes Montañas Humeantes (suena graciosísimo en castellano) que no puedo dejar de mirar. Tardé un tiempo en decidirme en qué hacer con la lana hasta que haciendo una búsqueda vi los mitones y me convencí. Luego vi que la misma Toni había tejido un par, no sé cómo no me había dado cuenta antes. El patrón es sencillo a más no poder hasta para las que se les escapan los puntos con sólo mirarlos, como yo, y la lana es de lo más recomendable.

If everybody on Ravelry was making them I thought there had to be a good reason for it and I wasn't going to let it pass. Last January I got a delightful present from my own transoceanic Wise Men (thanks Tea!) consisting of two skeins of Knit Picks Andean Silk, several patterns, yarn needles, stitch markers and clover needle holder charms. She also included two beautiful postcards from the Great Smoky Mountains I can't help but look at them again and again. I spent many time thinking what to make with that yarn until I found the pattern searching through Ravelry database. I saw the mittens and I knew they were the ones. Toni had knitted a pair before - I don't know how I missed that. The pattern is really easy even for clumsy knitters like me that get stitches slipped from the needles just looking at them, and the yarn is highly recommended.

Soft, warm & classy

Yarn: 1 skein of Knit Picks Andean Silk colour Hyacinth. 55% Alpaca, 23% Silk, 22% Merino (the ultimate in luxury!).
Needles: double point 3.5 mm / US4.
Pattern: Fetching by Cheryl Niamath.
Adjustements: Casted on 40 sts instead of 45 to make them smaller.

¡Ahora ya puedo trabajar calentita en invierno! Lo malo es que durante la realización de las fotos uno de mis queridos cactus resultó herido... Nada de lo que preocuparse: ahora tiene un "hijo". ;-)

Now I can stay warm at work in winter! Bad news is one of my dear cacti got injured while I was taking these photos. Nothing to freak about: now my cactus has a "child" of its own. ;-)
