Secret Santa Swap España 2017 (I)

¿O no? ;-)

Muchas gracias por leerme.
¡Feliz mes de febrero!

P.P.D. ¡Llueve! ♥

On Monday I shared my latest yarn additions so today I will talk about the origin of some of those skeins: Secret Santa Swap España 2017 hosted by Wendy from Coser Cosas. It was an event planned for sewing crafters initially but knitters and crocheters were also welcome and thus I joined. It was so much fun!

My Secret Santa was Carmen, who kept the mystery until the end as she knew I am a follower of hers and was lurking, waiting for some clue, but also threw a few hint here and there to keep me on tenterhooks.

That cute doll now keeps me company from the cork board above my computer

I was shocked when this huge package arrived home. What could be in there? Had she sent Gladys, her cat, by post? No way! We weren't allowed to open our parcels until December 23rd and I patiently waited for two weeks until everybody had received theirs. Luckily it wasn't Gladys or this could have had a very bad ending. ;-)

Chic knitting with this Parisienne bag

Inside the big package there was this wonderful crafting bag made by Carmen with a sober but cute print, full to the top with useful stuff for any nerd knitter & tea drinker who also happens to be mad about Latin. Ahem.

My precious!

In the smaller package there were two bags of local tea blends that smell and taste heavenly. In the crafting bag there were yarns, a pink twine ball, a stitch-counter and a tin box for markers. Also some Christmas napkins and a mug with Latin motto Carpe diem to complete the tea kit.

The bag is lined with padded fabric. Needless to say, it is flawless: the stitching is perfect and both fabrics outer and lining look really nice together. Not only I do like it very much but also plan to use it a lot. This is the kind of presents I love: the ones that remind me of the person who gave them while I am wearing or using the item. At this moment the bag just contains the yarn and is waiting for some projects but soon I will use it for the first time as next week the Winter Ravellenic Games will start and I will take part in them with one of the skeins Carmen gave me.

My swap stash ♥

I am very grateful and fortunate for having had Carmen as my Secret Santa. Thank you very, very much! I cannot help but feel as though I had won first prize in this lottery. What else could have made a knitter who sips tea while knitting and studies Latin when is not knitting as happy as I am? ;-)

Thank you so much for reading.
Happy February!

    1. The padded bag has room enough to carry a big project and that is exactly what I needed, since I rarely knit or crochet small garments. And the fabrics she chose are so pretty! Cannot wait to start working with those yarns —Friday is the cast on day for the Winter Games!
      Have a nice week.
