BAMCAL 2016 — April

Circled Granny Square
Margarita quemada

Circled Granny Square
Sunburned daisy

April ends today! It looked so far away but today is the last day of the mont. Bye bye xx month! I don't want to see you again before next year. ;-)

This month's square has been quite a pleasant surprise, a really beautiful one but at the same time the most difficult square I have ever crocheted. I needed a few attempts! The pattern is very well written with mini-tutorials for making the leaves and petals and includes a graphic chart for Spanish oldies like me who are mainly visual crocheters.

Being it a daisy I couldn't help looking for a scrap of white yarn. Making a blue or purple flower was totally out of the question! I like the result, the contrast between the central button and white petals with the green leaves and the dark edge nicely framing the square.

Sweet Daisy Square
Yarn: Katia Fama 100% acrylic in dark purple (615), light green (607), off-white (63) & light blue (503).
Hook: 3,5 mm / US E.
Size: 12 cm (5")
Pattern: Sweet Daisy Square by Artisan Loops.

I admit I went too far with Photoshop this time but believe me, it is very difficult to capture purple shades *coughs* and these days the sunlight at the batcave is just a joke with clouds playing hide-and-seek all over. Spring is useless even for taking some pictures! :-Þ

Have a great weekend!

  4. Oh yes, that's a gorgeous square! Love the flower. You're going to have a beautiful project with many variations when your finished. I was in another state for several days and nearly froze to death in the cool air. I may need to move there someday, lol.
    Have a wonderful week!

    1. I can't wait to see all 12 squares finished together and start planning what to do with them.
Oh, spring has been crazy arond here too. One day it's scorching hot, the next day we have chilly wind and we all catch a cold. ;-)
      Have a nice week!
