On my needles — March

Cosiendo

Caja Carton
Caja de material quirúrgico vacía, gracias a Dios

¡Shhhh!

Bolilleando

Nada; no tengo manos suficientes. Mi madre continúa practicando con mis materiales.

Viendo

¡No me arrepiento! Muy divertida.

Another month has gone and here I am sharing with you what is on my needles in March. I feel like time is flying very fast: yesterday I was watching New Year's concert and tomorrow will be Easter. Does anybody know where does wasted time go?

Knitting

Ombre Tank
Still lying there, poor thing

1. My Ombre tank is on hiatus since I have other priorities now. Also I caught a nasty cold that made me stay away from crafts. It doesn't matter because I won't be wearing it anytime soon (or so I hope).

Crab Apple Swallowtail
Crab Apple Budding

2. One of those priorities is a shawl that I am bartering with the cutest seamstress in the blogosphere. She was the one who chose the style and colour so I won't be giving away other details in order to keep a veil of mystery around it. ;-)

Crocheting

3. BAMCAL 2016 6" square for March: Tears from Heaven. By the end of the month on the blog. ;-)

Cotton
Cotton yarn tower cake

4. My other priority is the swap Canvi de mans that Ganxetades is hosting. I don't want to share many hints but these yarn are the leftovers from something that I may have crocheted...

Stitching

Caja Carton
Thankfully empty surgical instruments box

5. ...or maybe they are being used to decorate this box? Shhh!

Bobbin lace

Nothing, as I only have two hands. Mum is still practicing with my pillow and bobbins.

Watching

6. You From The Stars (별에서 온 그대). I am no fan of fantasy stories and even less when there are "aliens" and such so I avoided this one for a very long time. Recently I didn't have any light series to watch and took the bait. No regrets! What a fun and light-hearted story.

7. Bride of the Century (백년의 신부). Once we are watching aliens what are ghosts? A beautiful love and vengeance story of a ghost who has been waiting a hundred years for a suitable bride to carry her revenge.

8. Angry Mom (앵그리맘). A dark story about school bullying, corruption, treason and murder. I rarely watch non-romance but once in a while it feels good to take a breather and enjoy one of these.

Reading

9. Scaramouche by Rafael Sabatini, in Spanish. A classic! However my head was full of colourful gowns and fencing scenes from the wonderful film by George Sidney and reading dark printing on white pages felt very boring.

10. A Mango Shaped Space by Wendy Mass. Meh, not sure. The story is fun but made me feel like I was a phony. Sometimes it seemed the girl was on drugs. Nothing to do with what I actually feel.

11. The Jerusalem Diamond by Noah Gordon, in Spanish. I love this author style and there aren't any autopsies on this book, which is a plus for me. Too bad the story is too short.

12. Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell, in Spanish. Too Victorian and dull for my taste. I am afraid Jane Eyre is all I can swallow.

13. Babette's Feast by Isak Dinesen, in Spanish. Simply delightful!

I spent too much time in bed or the sofa due to this cold.
The result? 0 finished projects, 3 whole series watched and 5 read books in less than a month.
Hopefully next month will be better on the crafty side.
Thank you very much for reading my ramblings!

Besos

  3. Oh, I hope you feel better soon! I do know about the nasty cold. I think that phase is finished, but now I have the terrible toothache. I have such trouble with these things. Anyhoo, you may have not done as much crafting lately, but you were not idle. :-)

    Feliz Pascua!

  5. Love the shawl, such a pretty green yarn. I don't know where March has gone, either. Well, I may have read several books which was more fun than even the knitting lately. However, I'm back on track and may even post soon. LOL
    Have a lovely week!

    1. Guess I'm back on track too —at least I'm trying. Looking forward to your new post! Loving this green yarn too: knitting pretty yarn makes me happier. :-)
Weather is warm and sunny lately. Spring is definitely here.
      Have a wonderful week!

  6. Hello! I loved your post, you make me feel so uncrafty. The yarn tower cake looked delicious in an eye-candy sort of way;) If I may, I would like to recommend a different book by Elizabeth Gaskell. I understand your suffering with Cranford, it was rather boring (the BBC series was so astonishingly much better than the book!). I wonder if you have ever read _The Grey Woman_? It's a very different book. I think you might like it.

    1. Yes! The BBC series was so bright and fun than the book turned out to be a huge disappointment. I never read other works from Ms. Gaskell before, Cranford was the first. As far as I know The Grey Woman isn't translated to Spanish but I'll give it a try in English (reading 19th century literature in English is a tad difficult for me so I usually avoid original versions).
Thank you so much for your visit and for taking a minute to give me a piece of advice! :-)

    2. I don't know if you would prefer to read or listen to English. I am going to err on the side of the latter and share the Librivox link. I adore reading, but I get so busy that I constantly visit Librivox!

    3. Thanks for the link! Actually I never listened to an audio-book before. My English is not that good when it comes to speaking/listening but I'm curious enough to give it a try. :-)

    1. Multiactividad quieres decir sofá, manta y libro/series ¿no?
      ¡¡Besotes!!
