Russian bobbin lace practice

Russian lace
Attempting Russian tape lace

Todavía no decido si me gusta o no...

This is the last practice of bobbin lace I made in 2014. I was very eager to learn Russian tape lace because you only need 6 or 8 pair of bobbins which was a huge change for me after having been using over 50. However everything has a price to pay. The downside was sewing with a hook every other pin, taking them off to put them in the right tiny hole again --pace breaking. I am not sure whether I like this style or not...

Pricking was published in Spanish crafts magazine Labores del Hogar: Cuaderno Bolillos nº 1.

      Besets ^_^

    1. Thank you very much! It's only my first practice and there's a lot of room for improvement but I'm enjoying every little step I take. My new teacher is simply amazing.

Looks like the watermark has been a total success! :-)

  6. Wow, your bobbin lace is very pretty. I can't imagine working with 6 or 8 bobbins let alone 50. That's a lot of bobbins to keep on track. Hope your week is going well. We are have some mild days - good for doing chores outside. :)
    Have a great week!

    1. Working with 6 or 8 pairs is very easy: you actually only work with 2 while the other are waiting on the side. The problem is having over 50 hanging on the side, they seem to be alive and cross among themselves for fun when you're not looking. Then when you need to take the next pair you can't find it: it's playing hide-and-seek with its siblings. lol
