Emma was expected by her family on January 2nd but at the last moment she decided she was a 2013 girl and gave a surprise to her parents on December 27th. A quick knit was in order to give the newborn the first present of her life from the Three Magi Kings! I decided to make some girly booties with fun buttons.
Not very surprisingly, when I combined the yarns I chose the booties turned out having the same colours that the footie teams which I (and Emma's father!) support have. I hope he notices and appreciates that. lol

I have knit these shoes before in 2010: you can see Marta's booties here. I had so much fun with this pattern that I want more babies to come to knit more of them!

So this was my first project in 2014. Is there a better way to start the new year accomplishing resolutions than knitting? I hope this is just the first of much more new projects to come!
What adorable booties! They're really precious. I love buttons and the gift box, too. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWe have a covering of snow and really, really cold temperatures, especially for us here in the south, U.S. Hope you are having a great start in the New Year. :)
I'm glad Emma's parents & auntie liked the gift -- you never know about handmade things, they tend to be underestimated because "they don't cost money".
DeleteHmm, esos colores me suenan x3
ReplyDeleteSí, creo que los conoces... jejeje

ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope it's going to be a good year!
DeleteBesos

DeleteGorgeous little shoes and so beautifully packaged
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think the package is a very important part of the final product: it needs to enhance all the pretiness and work put in there!
DeletePreciosas!! :)
ReplyDelete¡Muchas gracias! :-)
DeleteOh these booties are too cute. I'm just imagining them on the babies feet. So darling! Glad to know (because I read your posts backwards) that the booties were such a hit!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I didn't get to see the baby wearing them. I would love to!
