What happened in 2011

A salir adelante.

Y estoy aprendiendo a hacer bolillos. ¡Pero que nada mal! ¡Feliz Año Nuevo 2012!

I am not making any plans this year.  I am taking it easy and let things flow. If it has to happen, let it happen. I will learn to accept it and to live with any changes. I will learn to go on. And I will finish my projects before starting new ones thoughtlessly. No more procrastinating. Starting new things is great but also finishing old. Maximum three projects at the time. Will I able to?

Regarding 2011, this was my planning at the beginning of the year and what had happened at the end:

1. Finish the sweater. There is only a cuff left, for Heaven's sake! It's been untouched for a month. That's what I call procrastinating! Finished. It was worn by first time on Christmas Day and was a total success.
2. Finish my second pair of Miss I (ssipi) Socks and please learn how to graft the toe part properly. I have knitted three socks and after some ripping and knitting again I didn't yet. Finished. But still don't know how to graft the toe so I am learning how to knit them toe-up.
3. Take photos of all my gorgeous new skeins. Done. On my Flickr and Ravelry accounts.
4. Weave in all ends and take photos of every FO and list them. In progress. Need to finish a couple of things but this year they will come out from the dark corner in my room.
5. New projects!

-Veyla, with that yarn I got for them. Finished.
-Swallowtail, idem. Finished. Someone wanted to buy it at the Crafting Fair I attended these holidays. Of course, I can't part with it.
-Calorimetry, with scraps. Not yet. Not in a hurry. This will be a KAL with a friend and she is not ready yet.
-Several socks, pattern unchosen yet. Toe-up socks, pretty please. I hate not knowing how much remaining yarn there is in the skein and whether I will be able to finish them or not. Finished. Basic socks for learners. Used yarn from that trip to Germany. Toe-up knitting is really easy. Another step forward to get that Knitting Doctorate.
-Little blanket or jacket - or even both, why not? - for my friends' baby, those who went to Germany. Probably the baby will be a toddler when I have some spare time to knit/crochet something  for him but I will give it my best. Finished. I changed it for a cross-stitched bib. What can I do when all my friends decide to give birth in spring or summer? I can't knit them stuff!
    - Capelet with that super bulky yarn Miso sent me. Finished. I changed it for a poncho. Will probably add a matching beret too. Pictures coming soon.

6. Meanwhile, sew together all the hexagons for my summer bedspread - I have them all! Not yet. They are still single, poor things. I am not in the mood.
7. And make some progress with the pretty cross-stitch Moroccan cushion. In progress. I didn't take any photo because I am a slow embroiderer but I think about half the cushion is done.

Eight out of twelve. That isn't bad, is it? Plus two currently in progress, almost ten out of twelve. Plus I have started learning bobbin lace. Not bad at all! Happy New Year 2012!

  1. I know! I know! I've read over that pattern and I think I'm confusing myself about these short rows, etc. Maybe I should just actually try to make it, then it wouldn't be so bad. But as usual, I completely read through all patterns I attempt and try to visualize exactly what is being said before I begin. Ok, the Calorimetry will get done this year...while it's still cold. Yes, I'm writing it on my memo pad list entitled "Keeping Promises". :-)

You've been very successful in your projects this year, even in spite of all other life events. Smile. :-)
