Yet another lace bookmark

Forked bookmark

This is what happens when it's too hot (and I can't knit) and I'm not skilled enough at making lace: I repeat the same pattern again and again for the sake of practice, sometimes getting better results than others. This summer I wanted to use a coloured gimp for the first time and I was so into it that I forgot to put the first pin at the top corner (on the right side of the pic) so the bookmark ended being a bit forked.

Next time I hope to do it the right way: I'm attending classes! Real ones this time! :-D

  2. Well it looks great to me! Whenever you do get to attend those classes, I'm sure you'll be their best pupil. :-)

    1. Thanks! I think the result is good but for the forked top, the more I practice the more even the stitches are. I'm doing my best to be that best pupil! :-D

  3. I don't think anyone would have noticed what you are calling a mistake if you hadn't pointed it out. They do that sort of technique a lot in some art classes and call it "shadowing", and it's considered brilliant. :) In any case it's a beautiful bookmark. Yay for classes! I hope they are prepared to teach a fabulous class. The weather was so cool I had to wear a jacket yesterday. Yes, we're in the comfort zone here and loving it. Have a great day!

    1. That's why I pointed it out, I didn't want to forget this silly mistake. It just slipped my mind. Being an art student myself didn't know about that technique! Next time I'll say I did it on purpose. ;-)
We're also starting to wear light jackets in the morning. Loving the comfort zone here too!
