Textured in progress

After my left hand crisis came the circular needles crisis. I was knitting my Anne Elliot so happily when the cable made of silicon couldn’t hold all the weight and broke in two. Last weekend I make a quick trip to the Capital City and visited my new favourite place to buy a pair of interchangeable Knit Pro needles. The number I needed wasn’t available so I bought another pair to knit a shawl I had in mind. Ooh! So different from the cheap shabby needles I had. Before Knit Pro I didn’t want to use circular needles but now I am willing to hold them again. They’re wonderful and pink and translucent and they let pass pink-dyed light. I’m so pleased, did you notice? I have definitely joined the Dark Side of the Force Crafts.

Textured Shawl in progress
Textured & Variegated

What about the shawl? It’s the easy Textured Shawl Recipe by Orlane. Mademoiselle Alex, who has made a couple of beautiful shawls, set us a challenge and I accepted. I think two of the skeins Libby gave me for my birthday last year will make a warm autumn-ish shawl. Pattern suitable for novices.

Knitting Textured Shawl
Knit in pink!

And last as I refuse to be the local attraction for tourists knitting alone at the park next weekend – my contribution to the World Wide Knit in Public Day.

    ¡Besos!

  5. Alhana,
Your work is looking really pretty. I just love the colour of the yarn. Really lovely.
It looks as though you are enjoying your work even though I cant see your face which is a shame!
Love to you and thanks for the kind comments on SIBOL.

@Sue: thanks! I was enjoying it very much. But weather is too hot to knit, I don't think I'll knit again when this is finished till September.

    @Luisa: muchas gracias. Bienvenida.

Incordian menos y no pesan.

Estoy deseando verlo. :-)

  19. What beautiful colors! I love that you consider knitting "the dark side of the force / craft" - I do too! I always thought the Dark Side seemed more fun anyway. Too much information, but I love me some Anakin. :-) Also, just noticed your Gone with the Wind and Pride & Prejudice icons - I adore both movies, too. We should hang out! :-)

@Erica: but knitting IS the Dark Side! And I have been lured for good. ;-) Oh I love Luke (and everybody asks why?!). He had the streght of mind to resist, which I have not. Yes, we have many things in common! :-)
